Larva is motile and active.Pupa is sessile and sedentary.
Larva serves to feed and maintain nutritional reserves for later use.During Pupal stage, many adult structures start forming like wings and reproductive organs to give rise to a sexually mature adult.
They are not enclosed.They are usually enclosed in structures called Cocoons.
